Kerax is a range of heavy-duty rigids and tractor units manufactured by Renault since 1997.
The Kerax trucks, are usually equipped with a skip for heavy constructions, with a GVWR ranging from 19 to 26 tonnes. The Kerax tractor units have a GVWR of 19 tonnes and an authorized gross vehicle weight of 44 tonnes.
Powered with an engine with power outputs ranging from 260 to 490hp, the Kerax has a 9.8 or 11.1-litre cylinder. There are three cab versions for Kerax trucks : Day, Global or Sleeper. The differential locker gives the Kerax an excellent handling on rough terrains. The gear shifting is made easier by the cable control, the Servoshift and the Super H.
Recently, Renault launched two new versions of the Kerax : the Kerax Xtrem and the Kerax Adventure. The Kerax Xtrem is particularly suitable for mining and quarry applications : with its strengthened parabolic rear suspension, it has a GVWR of 50 T. The Kerax Adventure, equipped with bull bars, is a tribute to rally trucks.
